Behind the Design
I’ve always been drawn to the arts. As a child, I painted, sketched and dreamed of someday becoming a full-time artist. As a young adult, I let the fear that I wouldn’t be able to support myself as an artist lead me into another, more practical career.
But my inner creativity refused to remain silent. As I roamed flea markets or explored estate sales, I found myself drawn to vintage pieces, from the lovely, dust-covered remnants of broken brooches and lockets to practical objects like keys and rusty bits of hardware. These forgotten trinkets and discarded items spoke to me, asking me to rediscover their beauty, to tease out the stories they had yet to tell.
Guided by my own passion and by the pieces themselves, ReTold was born.
And as I found new life in these old pieces, I realized I was writing a new story for myself. I had reawakened the creativity that had always been there, just waiting to be rediscovered. It’s my hope not only that other women will enjoy my designs, but that perhaps they will be inspired to rediscover the forgotten beauty, the hidden talent, and the boundless creativity in their own lives.
